You were born in France to a minor noble family, but your gift manifested from an early age and was particularly strong (Blatant gift -1), and you were shunned by your family. One year, there was a run of bad luck: crops failed, and a number of cattle fell ill, and the finger of blame fell on you. Despite only being seven years old, you were driven from your village, and not knowing what to do, drifted towards Paris. It was there, while begging on the street, that you met a strange man. He turned out to be Sirius of Tytalus and he brought you to Dragonclaw as his apprentice.
Your apprenticeship was not an easy one. Sirius drove you extremely hard but did teach you the beauties of control. You are particularly good at Control magic (Magical Affinity (Rego) +4, Deft Art (Rego) +1). Sirius taught you for the full 15 years, and then refused to release you. His standards were very high and even when the quaesitors forced him to free you the following year he continued to dog you (Tormenting master -1). You did stay at Dragonsclaw, however, as Sirius had already told you he would be leaving, and you believed that the covenant would be deservedly yours once he was gone. Indeed, since he left, you are in charge. Occasionally, the other whine and whimper, but you are going to make a great covenant out of Dragonclaw, whatever it takes. You know that you have the ability although sometimes you can get into trouble (Over-confident -2).
You seem somewhat attuned to the dark things in life. Your magic is stronger at night, and weaker during the day (Cyclic magic [night +2, day -2]) and you find going into areas of the dominion of the church rather discomforting and your magic is weaker there (Susceptibility to divine -4). You are not sure why: you don't consider yourself necessarily evil, but you don't let it worry you over much.
You never fully rely upon magic: things can always go wrong, and have always maintained your skill with the sword. Indeed, you appear to have a knack for the simplicity and clarity of swordfighting (Knack (Sword) +3).
The Other Magi
Caitlin is an ex miscellenea maga and very good at the elements but well, she's a hedge wizard and a woman. It's not her fault, poor thing and you suppose she can be a good magus. You tend to ignore her except when you need to manipulate her for your own ends. She is very intense and can fly into a murderous fury at the most innocent remarks.
Erin is an expert in faerie magic, and in particular Muto magics. She also believes that she is a faerie, though she clearly is not, and is sometimes impossible to understand. She is clearly insane and quite incredibly fickle and fly and you just can't comprehend her at all. She seems to avoid you for the most part, which is how you like it.
Felix is a magus that you find difficult to understand, as his magic is so far removed from pure hermetic theory and he is so reserved. As a member of House Bjornaer he is attuned better than most to the natural world, especially the forms of Animal and Herbam. He can be a little withdrawn and sometimes seems even pained by his gift, but you believe him useful, or at least as useful as a Bjornaer can be.
Fidelis is a pain. He is a member of House Bonisagus, and an expert in Vim and good at magic . He is a peculiar young man, obsessed with magic, twisted with arthritis, and rarely goes out. However, he seems to believe he has the right to try and dictate to you regarding the direction of the covenant. Sometimes, he can be useful, otherwise, so obsessed with magic, he can be completely at odds with practicality.
Septimus is a solid chap, as you might expect of a member of House Verditius and an expert in Terram magics. He mostly seems stable and sensible, though he does seem to have unfortunate things happen to him at the worst times.
Thomas is a magus of House Jerbiton and has an unhealthy interest in mundane affairs. He often goes travelling, and is often to be found with a young lady on his arm. Mostly, he is a cheerful sort, and at such times he can be a good leader and useful sort, he is but othertimes he appears disconsolate and cannot be reasoned with.
