You were born in the wilds of Northern Scotland to a small clan. Your early childhood was happy, and you were cherished by your parents, but when you were about nine, you began to notice that you were being followed by a large wildcat. At first, you were a little bemused, but gradually it became more and more friendly. This was fortunate, as you had begun to find that the people of your village were becoming more isolated from you, and shunning you, though you didn't know why. It was because your gift was manifesting, and the large cat soon revealed itself to be Donal, a magus of Bjornaer, who invited you to become his apprentice. With your entire village now entirely shunning you, it was not a difficult decision.
You have been trained as a Bjornaer (Follower of Bjornaer +1) and you can now manifest two heart shapes: the housecat (your first) and the lynx. Like felines, you have impressive senses (Great perception +2) and although your movements are often almost sinous, you have incrediblely fast reflexes if necessary (Lightning reflexes +2). Your cat nature also seems to have caused you to have both quiet and subtle magic (Quiet magic +2, Subtle magic +2) such that you do not need to use hand actions, or speak loudly when casting spells.
Due to your training as a Bjornaer, as well as your innate nature, you seem to have a special affinity for animals, especially felines. They do not react badly to your gift, and will come to your call and are easily befriended (Animal ken +1).
However, your nature also has some negative effects. Against all logic, you cannot stand dogs. Small ones make you flinch, large ones make you freeze or run, and only an act of will can prevent your reaction. (Common fear (dogs) -2). You also have a weakness for warm fires and a comfortable nook (Weakness -1): you find it difficult to resist settling down for a snooze in those circumstances. That does not mean you like fire as a magical art, however. You are truly hopeless at Ignem and have difficulty casting any Ignem spells (Major magic deficiency (Ignem) -4)
For some reason you don't understand, your magic is also painful (Painful magic -3). You are careful when you use it, and in what circumstances. Your shift into your heartbeast is not effected.
After you apprenticeship ended you joined Dragonsclaw, as you liked its situation in the foothills of the Welsh mountains, near to some beautiful wild areas. Life at the covenant suits you and you usually keep to yourself, though are good at mediation when others are arguing. You like your own space, but will fiercely defend your territory if necessary.
The Other Magi
Caitlin is an intense young woman who you quietly like a fair bit. She's ex-Miscellenea and very good at the elements and like you she has a deep love for the neighboring lands. As a native of the area, however, she has been able to introduce you to some beautiful places. You've never really been able to get really close to her, however, though you trust her more than most of your fellow magi.
Erin is an expert in faerie magic, and in particular Muto magics. She also believes that she is a faerie, though she clearly is not, and is sometimes impossible to understand. However, she is always good natured, and sweet, with none of the arrogance found in some of the other more traditional houses, and you cannot help but like her most of the time, even if she annoys you sometimes with her peculiarities. You can even stand her petting you and 'cheering you up' given her entire lack of malice.
Fidelis is such a lab-rat it isn't true. He is a member of House Bonisagus, and an expert in Vim. He is unhealthily obsessed with magic, twisted with arthritis, and rarely goes out and seems to seek magic for its own sake, rather than appreciating it as a mere part of nature. He seems to be attempting to guide the covenant, but you find it difficult to trust someone so opposed to your own nature.
Reynaud is a Tytalus, the filius of Sirius and is an arrogant and difficult young man. He seems to believe that with his parent gone, he is the natural leader of the covenant, and tends to give orders assuming everyone else will follow them. This annoys you sometimes, and you suspect it annoys others but he certainly seems stronger than most, and if that is going to keep your territory safe, then so be it. Fidelis and Thomas often ignore him and often you find yourself mediating.
Septimus is a solid chap, as you might expect of a member of House Verditius and an expert in Terram magics. He mostly seems stable and sensible, though occasionally you hear him talking, apparently to a ghost. So far you don't know why, though he does seem to have unfortunate things happen to him at the worst times.
Thomas is a magus of House Jerbiton and has an unhealthy interest in mundane affairs. He often goes travelling, and is often to be found with a young lady on his arm. Mostly, he is a cheerful sort, and at such times he can be a good leader and useful sort, he is but othertimes he appears disconsolate and cannot be reasoned with. Sometimes, and you don't know why, you think there is something strange about him, but are not able to say for certain what, and such feelings soon pass.
